The Mashreq Metro Station has officially been renamed InsuranceMarket Metro Station, as announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Thursday. This station, located on the Red Line between Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Internet City, sits strategically on Sheikh Zayed Road.
10-Year Naming Rights
The renaming of the station is part of a 10-year agreement, effective immediately.
Updated Signage and Announcements
As part of the transition, RTA has already updated the outdoor signs and will be adjusting the smart and electronic systems across the public transport network. This includes updating the audio announcements on board metro trains, with changes expected to be completed between September and November this year.
Important Notice for Commuters
RTA has advised commuters to note the new name and has assured that staff at metro stations are available to assist with any questions or clarifications regarding the change.
A Strong Public-Private Partnership
Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of the Rail Agency at RTA, highlighted that awarding metro station naming rights to companies reflects RTA’s successful partnerships with the private sector, aimed at stimulating economic growth in Dubai. He added that the collaboration with InsuranceMarket.ae is a prime example of a fruitful public-private partnership that creates job opportunities and encourages private sector support for government initiatives.
Marketing and Business Growth
Kalbat further emphasized that Dubai Metro stations provide a unique platform for businesses to promote their brands. Companies like InsuranceMarket.ae benefit from advanced advertising opportunities that enhance their global competitiveness and support business growth both locally and internationally.
Previous Metro Station Renamings
Dubai Metro’s naming rights program, which began in 2009, has seen several notable changes. In January last year, Al Safa Metro Station was renamed Onpassive Metro Station. Other notable renamings include Sobha Realty Metro Station (formerly Dubai Marina), Max Fashion (formerly Al Jaffliya), and Centrepoint (formerly Al Rashidiya). Additionally, Emirates Airlines, GGICO, and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank have also secured naming rights to Red Line stations.
A Milestone for InsuranceMarket.ae
Avinash Babur, founder and CEO of InsuranceMarket.ae, expressed his gratitude for the naming rights, calling it a significant milestone in the company’s journey. He looks forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have on Dubai’s residents and visitors.
