Make sure that all the important items and things pertain to the car, such as if the door handles are working properly as they should, and the car locks are working properly, and if the wipers are actually working their job and the lights at their end.

Roll the windows down and up, turn on the radio or other electronics and see if everything is working as it should.

If the car has GPS installed in it, and you must have the knowledge and get familiar with it, must set the language for which you are familiar and consider asking the agent to show you how it is working / working condition.

Usually, you must choose the fuel type upon booking, but this is subject to change as everything else is.

A permanent car rental has many hundreds and / or thousands of cars in their fleet stock, so complications can always arise which result in some type of deviation from the routine and from your originally booked vehicle.

Just open the fuel lid and check inside to see if it is a diesel, petrol or anything else.

Take a moment to go over the dashboard, make sure you are aware which measure is for speed, which is the tachometer, and which is for the fuel.

Check to see if there are any warning lights, or if the temperature gauge is displaying unordinary temperature.

Go over each tyre and check for shallow tread depth. If the depth is less than 1.5 mm, or worse, you can see through to the wires, then that tyre is un-safe, and the car rental should replace it before delivering the car or to change the car.

Check if the tyres are suitable for the conditions of your journey / trip. If there is snow or ice on the roads, then the tyres should be special studded or un-studded winter tyres.
